Netsweeper Supporting Safer Internet Day 2010

Netsweeper, a global provider of Internet content filtering solutions, will be supporting and celebrating Safer Internet Day, an internationally recognized event created ‘to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones.’

(Issues Wire / PRWEB) February 9, 2010 -- Today, Netsweeper is recognizing, Safer Internet Day, an internationally recognized event that was created to promote Internet safety and awareness for children, parents and teachers.

“Safer Internet Day is significant to Netsweeper. It has always been our mission as a global provider of Internet content filtering solutions to develop and create tools that are designed to protect children from the dangers lurking on the Internet. These threats include online sexual predator solicitation through social networking and chat sites, cyberbullying and inappropriate web content like pornography, gambling, profanity and substance abuse websites just to name a few,’ said Perry Roach, CEO of Netsweeper. “Further, in this day and age where mobile Internet access is becoming more prevalent through the use of laptops and cell phones, Netsweeper believes that we, as parents and guardians, must make it a priority to educate everyone on the risks our children take each and every day when online whether from a desktop at home or a mobile device anywhere.”
