(Issues Wire / Vocus) February 13, 2008 -- Intelligent Software Solutions (ISS) is proud to announce the release of CIDNE version 1.4, within the Iraq Theater of Operations. The Combined Information Data Network Exchange (CIDNE) is a web-based tool that provides coalition forces with a unified event reporting system for operations and intelligence information.

We have a broad community of users who understand the importance of getting quality data to and from commanders – from the strategic level to the patrols. Our job is to help standardize reporting in order to facilitate analysis, ensuring that soldiers, airmen and Marines have the tools and information they need to support the mission.
Within CIDNE, significant activities and events throughout all of Iraq are entered, correlated, aggregated and managed through a user-definable and customizable workflow model. The model provides tactical level reporting flexibility while simultaneously maintaining the force-level data standardization necessary for analysts to perform theater-wide analysis and reporting of trends. CIDNE gives commanders at all levels the ability to not only see rollups of significant activities within their specific area of operations (AOR) and “drill into” the underlying data, but to do so across multiple AORs throughout all of Iraq.

According to Kevin Moffatt, Vice President in charge of Combat Intelligence Systems at ISS, “CIDNE 1.4 represents the next generation of capability designed specifically to function as an information bridge between various communities working the same problem sets from different perspectives.” In addition to significant gains in overall application performance and scalability, Stephen Van Camp, Chief Engineer for the program states that CIDNE 1.4 also delivers a much improved collaborative and visualization interface. “Without a common, collaborative data and visualization framework, the Warfighter might not otherwise be able to share critical information across multiple communities in a timely and effective manner.”

ISS presently supports CIDNE with a cadre of on-site engineers throughout the United States Central Command Theater of Operations. Charles F. McLean III, ISS site lead in Iraq believes the success of the CIDNE program is a result of working closely with the Warfighter to define and implement their requirements. “We have a broad community of users who understand the importance of getting quality data to and from commanders – from the strategic level to the patrols. Our job is to help standardize reporting in order to facilitate analysis, ensuring that soldiers, airmen and Marines have the tools and information they need to support the mission.”
