Henry Rollins Interviews Good Friday Author Anthony McIntyre About the IRA
After a successful book launch at Linen Hall in Belfast early this November, author Anthony McIntyre will appear on the Henry Rollins Show on the U.S. IFC network this Friday evening, November 21, at 10:30 p.m. Rollins questions the author about the IRA, Iraq, and resistance movements.
New York, NY (Issues Wire / PRWEB) November 19, 2008 -- On Friday, November 21 at 10:30 p.m., Henry Rollins interviews Anthony McIntyre, the author of the new book, "Good Friday: The Death of Irish Republicanism", a must read for anyone wanting to get a handle on Northern Ireland's peace process from an Irish Republican perspective.
According to writer and educator, Seaghán Ó Murchú, "As an ex-IRA blanketman, already imprisoned in his teens, interned for 17 years at Long Kesh, Anthony McIntyre knows his subject by having lived most of his life as an (IRA) volunteer. After prison, he earned a Ph.D. Dr. McIntyre combines two rarely encountered areas of expertise. As an insider, he betters the academics and reporters in relating the perspective of an Irish republican who's proven his credibility on the blanket."
"As a commentator, he's able to silence the 'militant Republicans of the verbal type' eager to perch on barstools or boast to the naive their exploits, fueled with Dutch courage," continued Murchú.

McIntyre's controversial new book, however, was not as well received in Ireland as he was by Henry Rollins and IFC Uncut. Most book stores in Ireland refused to carry the title until McIntyre's intrepid publisher, Ausubo Press, struck a deal with an equally intrepid distributor, Gill & Macmillan Ltd. The Irish distributor rescued the book from the censors and is now the book's exclusive European distributor.
The book is now available wherever fine books are sold here and abroad, and online through Ausubo Press, Small Press Distribution Inc. of California, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and The Bookshop at Queen's Belfast.
European booksellers interested in stocking Good Friday: The Death of Irish Republicanism should call +353 1 500 9500, fax +353 1 500 9599, or write to sales @ gillmacmillan.ie.
Ausubo Press is an independent multicultural publishing company. It is one of several publishers in the United States producing books in more than 2 languages. In addition to Spanish and English, their first Irish title will be published next year. Ausubo Press is playing a small role in raising global consciousness about the need to protect any culture's greatest treasure: their language.
