The National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA), the longest-tenured fire sprinkler advocacy organization in the U.S., has announced the promotion of Dan Gengler and David Bowman to the newly created positions of Associate Director of Regional Operations. Additionally, both will continue their current roles as Regional Managers with Gengler managing the North Central Region and Bowman continuing to oversee Florida.

Patterson, NY (Issues Wire / PRWEB) April 10, 2008 -- The National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA), the longest-tenured fire sprinkler advocacy organization in the U.S., has announced the promotion of Dan Gengler and David Bowman to the newly created positions of Associate Director of Regional Operations. Additionally, both will continue their current roles as Regional Managers with Gengler managing the North Central Region and Bowman continuing to oversee Florida.

In their new roles, Regional Managers east of the Mississippi River will report to Bowman and those in the west will report to Gengler. Respectively, both Bowman and Gengler will continue to report to NFSA's Director of Regional Operations, Buddy Dewar.

Gengler has been a NFSA regional representative for more than eight years where he is responsible for facilitating continued automatic fire sprinkler education for members of the fire sprinkler and the fire service industries as well as code officials. He spent more than 26 years with the Milwaukee Fire Department, retiring in 1999 as Deputy Chief. In addition, Gengler is the founder of the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety, a nonprofit organization for fire and burn prevention.

Bowman brings more than 35 years of fire protection experience to his new role. Prior to his affiliation with NFSA he served as Mitigation Team Leader for FEMA, working in various locations in Mississippi in response to Hurricane Katrina. From 2002 - 2005 he served as the Assistant State Fire Marshal of Nevada where he was responsible for managing the operations of the main office as well as five satellite offices and preparing and presenting legislation at federal, state and local levels. Bowman also served as the Chief of Explosives and Pyrotechnics at the Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office. He holds several degrees including a Ph.D. in Fire Safety Management.

"Dan and David's commitment to the advancement of the fire sprinkler industry as well as their dedication to promoting the good works of the association has resulted in our members seeing significant value-added benefits and support," said NFSA President John Viniello. "Their promotions are reflective of their hard work and as they assume their new roles I am confident that member support and retention will continue to advance under their leadership."
