There have been previous rounds of environmental sustainability challenges in the past. But the challenges presented by greenhouse gas emissions and climate change are complex and far reaching. All of this is occurring at a time when the world is more interconnected than ever. We are pleased to be recognized as the leader in this field.
The award is sponsored by Environmental Business International, which publishes EBJ. It recognizes companies whose products and services offer innovation and create value. EBJ staff and editorial advisory board members select award winners based on criteria such as revenue growth, profitability gains, technology innovations and noteworthy expansions or acquisitions.

The award recognizes ESS for several noteworthy accomplishments, including:

  • Increased software license sales and revenue growth, expanding its industry-leading global customer base. ESS solutions were chosen by companies across a wide range of industry sectors, including Alcoa, Allied Waste, Caterpillar, Spectra Energy, Duke Energy, HD Supply, Mark-West Hydrocarbon, Inc., Boart Longyear, Major Drilling, Oiltanking Houston, Syncrude Canada, USDA Forest Service;
  • New releases of Essential Suite, ESS’ flagship software platform for global enterprises, and the browser-based version of Compliance Suite TM platform for mid-market organizations – the industry’s top product lines; and
  • Strengthened its global partner ecosystem with information technology providers such as Microsoft, IBM, and OSIsoft as well as top EHS and Crisis Management consulting service providers.
"We appreciate this award and recognition by EBJ," said Robert Johnson, ESS President and CEO. "ESS software implementations are empowering organizations worldwide to advance their business sustainability initiatives by enhancing performance for greenhouse gas management (GHG), sustainability reporting, worker health and safety, compliance reporting and emergency response."

"Climate change and GHG management have major implications for businesses, more than at any other time in our history. The need for innovative, enabling information technology systems to help organizations execute against their corporate sustainability goals has never been greater," continued Johnson. "There have been previous rounds of environmental sustainability challenges in the past. But the challenges presented by greenhouse gas emissions and climate change are complex and far reaching. All of this is occurring at a time when the world is more interconnected than ever. We are pleased to be recognized as the leader in this field."
