Trelleborg Automotive Selects ICE-flow Software To Reduce Product Development Times And Costs

Trelleborg Automotive, a global supplier of polymer systems for vehicle applications, has selected nCode's ICE-flow GlyphWorks software for its pilot study for Road Load Data (RLD) analysis. Trelleborg is using GlyphWorks as the foundation for key development processes; embedding Trellborg's own standards and methodologies into the software.

Paris, France (Issues Wire / PRWEB) March 4, 2008 -- nCode International, a leading developer of data analysis software, data acquisition systems and durability solutions, today announced that Trelleborg Automotive, a global supplier of polymer systems for vehicle applications, has selected nCode's ICE-flow GlyphWorks software for its pilot study for Road Load Data (RLD) analysis. Trelleborg is using GlyphWorks as the foundation for key development processes; embedding Trellborg's own standards and methodologies into the software.

Trelleborgs's major automotive customers, such as PSA Peugeot-Citroen, Renault-Nissan, General Motors and VAG, are continually demanding shorter development times, but this allows less time to test components in long life applications. Trelleborg's goal is to establish a new process for Road Load Data analysis across the company that helps ensure product quality and durability, while reducing time to market.

Working with GlyphWorks, Trelleborg engineers are developing a systematic process that:

  • Compares existing road test data sets with target usage profiles; allowing the re-use of expensively acquired data
  • Allows rapid test data editing - removing non-damaging signals and thereby speeding up rig tests
  • Reduces the number of validation test required, using well defined specification envelopes
  • Compares parts designed for different applications, potentially allowing for part carry over between applications

The GlyphWorks analysis software includes all the features requires for fatigue analysis and fatigue editing, and is equally suitable for metallic and non-metallic test applications with very easy to define custom damage laws. Analysis processes are simple to develop, automate and maintain, delivering powerful methodologies that can be deployed to engineers around the world.

The Trelleborg technical center in France is piloting this new development approach. The standards and tools will be deployed to the other technical centers in the group; in Germany, the United States and Korea.
