New High Powered Spotlights Made In The USA

Larson Electronics Magnalight Releases New Line of US Made Spotlights and Searchlights. These 24 volt spotlights offer searchlight capabilities and can be used with a covert infrared blackout cover accessory.

Kemp, Texas (Issues Wire / PRWEB) December 4, 2007 -- Larson Electronics announced enhanced versions of its Magnalight spotlights, searchlights and work lights. The Magnalight lighting products, with their powerful beams, industrial grade materials and strong magnetic bases have been a stalwart in the utility, construction and military sectors since the 1960s.

The new ControLights series of industrial lights build on the Magnalight foundation by offering the operator the ability to control the tilt and rotation of the lights with a reverse pistol grip handle.

"US soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan have provided a lot of useful feedback about the functionality of the spotlights," explained Rob Bresnahan, President of Larson Electronics. "Our HML-5M (HLM-5M) is a standard component of the Escalation of Force Convoy Kit provided by the prime vendor ADS Tactical. With nearly 20,000 units in the field, we have gained new insight into our customer needs. As a result, we now have permanent mount options, adjustable locking bases and searchlight style handle controls. These new options are now available in our 24 military spotlight range and our 12 volt spotlights for utility, industrial and outdoor applications. The new ControLight range enables operators to either permanently attach or magnetically mount the light, but still have the ability to position the beam. Once the operator finds their ideal position, the light will hold the position without the need to tighten or lock the base in place. There is enough tension on the hinge assembly to hold the position."

Larson Electronics also introduced its new covert infrared black out cover for the Magnalight and ControLight line of spotlights. The aluminum assembly contains a 850 nm cutoff infrared borosilicate lens sandwiched between Lexan protectors. Like the entire line of Magnalight and ControLight lights, the new infrared black out cover is also made in Kemp, Texas.

The infrared cover blocks all visible light projected from the lights, working in conjunction with the war fighter's night vision equipment. The infrared black out cover is the latest in a growing line of military and tactical equipment, including the concealable, plastic handcuff key and infrared black out headlight cover for the military HUMVEE. See www.magnalight.com for more information on the complete line of vehicle powered lighting products and related gear.
