ExhibitOne Creates Evidence Presentation System for NRC

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has created an advanced courtroom with a sophisticated audio-visual presentation system to accommodate potentially the largest evidentiary record ever compiled for an NRC hearing. The audio-visual system was designed and integrated by Phoenix-based ExhibitOne.

Phoenix, Ariz. (Issues Wire / PRWEB) April 14, 2006 -- The U.S.

To be used during planned public hearings regarding the possible construction of a high-level radioactive waste repository located at Yucca Mountain, Nev., the new courtroom system can display items from a database of more than 50,000 documents, including previously recorded digital audio and video evidence. The database system, referred to in conjunction with the audio-visual system as the Digital Data Management System (DDMS), was developed by Nortel Government Solutions.

Additionally, the courtroom system enables the NRC, by accessing computers in a data closet, to look at real-time transcripts and control a document camera using remote control through a wireless touch panel. The system's video component can access the DDMS digital information database as well as capture laptop and other digital recordings for playback. An audio-video mixing system automatically focuses a camera on the person speaking to create a video record, which later can be combined with the real-time transcription record to create a searchable audio-video/text transcript for review. Other highlights of the system include: three judge and five witness locations at the bench, plasma monitors with closed captioning over composite and VGA outputs, and the ability to interact with a witness over video conference.

"The new system provides unmatched efficiency and streamlines the presentation process not only for the NRC, but also for any organization desiring a look into the future of audio video," said ExhibitOne CEO and President Kevin Sandler.
